Mercury Labs seeks to solve the aforementioned issues through the use of the Algorand blockchain and Mercury Labs' own currency, the Mercury Coin:
Customer's currency and NFTs will be stored on the Algorand blockchain, giving people full autonomy of their assets. The Algorand blockchain allows people to engage in Algorand's DeFi ecosystem, enabling the leverage of financial services with one's assets.
Algorand's transactions are fast and cheap.
No one can exploit or pressure a company to gain access to customer's funds on Algorand. This is due to Algorand's decentralized nature, which means there is no central authority for an attacker to target. This eliminates at least two large classes of attack strategies hackers use to gain access to protected systems: social engineering and physical security intrusions.
Authenticity of products, event tickets, and event attendance can be managed through the blockchain with easily-detectible fraud and an indelible record of sports fans' favorite memories.
We'll be engaging our community through events, charities, product governance, social media platforms, and more. To ensure our community and services have longevity, Mercury Labs will be using KYC where appropriate and, of course, will be staying compliant with laws and regulations.
